A great view from here: Royal Navy flagship shares images of her arrival in Singapore

Warm welcome to Singapore for HMS Prince of Wales

HMS Prince of Wales has arrived in Singapore on the latest phase of her eight-month deployment on Carrier Strike Group 25.

The flagship posted several images of her arrival on her X account, including one taken from the forward command tower where the bridge is located.

The picture was accompanied by a post that simply said: "It's a great view from here!"

HMS Prince of Wales was not the first vessel on CSG25 to have sailed into the harbour, as HMS Dauntless had gone on ahead.

The Type 45 destroyer's arrival was unusual as she would usually have remained close to the aircraft carrier.

But the Royal Navy vessel went ahead to be greeted by the British Defence Singapore Support Unit, a naval facility located in Sembawang,

Led by HMS Prince of Wales and involving a dozen nations, the eight-month mission – known as Operation Highmast – takes the task group to the western Pacific Rim via the Mediterranean and Middle East with a series of large-scale exercises with Britain's allies and partners.

The goal is to reaffirm the UK's commitment to the security of the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific region, demonstrate collective resolve with the UK's allies and showcase British trade and industry.

Throughout the deployment, upwards of 4,500 British military personnel will be involved, including nearly 600 RAF and 900 soldiers alongside 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines.
