US Army blast sweets from a HIMARS rocket launcher in Halloween treat for children
The HIMARS light multiple rocket launcher, or High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, can not only fire a six-pack of rockets at an enemy target – but it can also blast a burst of sweets to a crowd of excited children it seems.
A video shows how the US Army has found a light-hearted use for the rocket launcher – one of the most significant weapons sent by the West to Ukraine since the start of the war – as a treat for children on Halloween.
The footage, tweeted by US Army Fort Sill in Oklahoma, shows the children searching for candy on the ground after the HIMARS blasted out the sweets in a series of bursts.
The UK military has also been marking Halloween – forces musicians put on fancy dress for charity as they rehearsed on the streets of Portsmouth.
