John Swinney, the Deputy First Minister of Scotland and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, was at St Augustine’s High School in Edinburgh for a tour of Poppyscotland's new mobile learning facility.

18-tonne purpose-built truck 'Bud' has taken to the streets of Scotland to teach communities about the importance of remembrance and the heritage of the poppy.

Mr Swinney said,

"I really have to compliment Poppyscotland on the creation of an absolutely outstanding, engaging facility for young people in our schools and also for our communities."

Poppyscotland is an Armed Forces charity that works with those still serving, ex-service men and women, as well as their families in their times of need. 'Bud' will travel around Scotland with interactive displays and stories of veterans, to help keep the importance of the poppy alive.
