F-35s and Poseidon aircraft depart for major Arctic exercise
F-35 fighter jets have left the UK to take part in a major NATO exercise in the Arctic.
The F-35s, from RAF Marham, and Poseidon aircraft, from RAF Lossiemouth, departed the UK for Exercise Cold Response 2022 – the largest Arctic exercise for 30 years.
The training is a month-long test of allied forces that will see 30,000 troops from 27 nations operate together.
The F-35s will work alongside the Royal Navy's HMS Prince of Wales during the training, but will not operate from the aircraft carrier.
