F-35 crash: 'Clearly wasn't a problem with the jet'

The aftermath of a crash of a British F-35B jet into the Mediterranean Sea earlier this month suggests the aircraft went down due to a pilot or operator "error", a former Royal Navy commander has said.

Tom Sharpe told Forces News, the fact that flying operations on HMS Queen Elizabeth resumed "so shortly afterwards", shows it "clearly wasn't a problem with the jet".

The wreckage of the stealth plane has been located by experts, but not yet recovered from the ocean, the UK's National Security Adviser Sir Stephen Lovegrove understands.
