Al-Baghdadi: Islamic State Leader's Remains Disposed Of 'Appropriately'

US officials say the remains of the so-called Islamic State group (IS) leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi have been disposed of in an undisclosed location.
Media reports have suggested they were buried at sea - after the IS leader was killed during a US special forces operation on Saturday.
Some reports claim that the US afforded al-Baghdadi religious rites, according to Islamic custom, during a burial.
During a statement the following day, US President Donald Trump described how al-Baghdadi was pursued through a dead-end tunnel before detonating an explosive vest.
General Mark A Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he was not ready to release footage of the operation – but has announced that al-Baghdadi’s remains were disposed of "appropriately" and in line with the laws of armed conflict.
The General said that, before the disposal of his remains, they were transported to a secure facility to confirm his identity with forensic DNA testing.
