More than 200 Officer Cadets commission at Sovereign's Parade

More than 200 Officer Cadets have commissioned as Army Officers at the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst.

Marking the end of 44 weeks of intensive training at Sandhurst, it was the first parade with a full complement of officer cadets in nearly two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Princess Royal was at the ceremony, representing the Queen as the Reviewing Officer.

Awards were presented to those who topped the commissioning group – including the highly coveted Sword of Honour.

It goes to the Officer Cadet who, in the opinion of the Commandant and his staff, is the best of their intake.

Amongst those commissioning were 35 international cadets from countries including Armenia, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Iraq.
