Ukraine crisis: What is happening behind closed doors?

NATO is taking a cautious approach to Russian claims it is pulling back some of its troops from near Ukraine.

Speaking ahead of a meeting of defence ministers, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says Russia has not yet moved towards de-escalation on the ground, but he is "cautiously optimistic" about the prospects of a diplomatic solution, although the Kremlin has denied it is planning to invade.
