11 years 7 monthsJo started her broadcasting career in 1996 in Kenya, although lurking out there somewhere is a GCSE Media Studies radio project from a few years earlier that may have been a clue as to the career direction she was about to take.
After four year on Nairobi's 'Capital FM' she packed up two suitcases, and with a demo tape arrived in the UK to pursue her broadcasting dreams.
Following stints on smaller stations she landed the Breakfast show on Oxfordshire's Fox FM - co-hosting 'Carl and Jo in the Morning' for two years before heading to the BBC where she was presented the award winning 'Jo in the Afternoon'.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Jo has broadcast from the peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro, schmoozed with a host of showbiz superstars and even danced along to 'Walk Like An Egyptian' with a former Prime Minister.
