Liz Truss is the new Prime Minister, after weeks of political campaigning coinciding with a war on European soil – so what is the UK appointment likely to mean for defence?

Pledging to increase defence spending, from around 2.2% to 3% of GDP by 2030, the new leader has also said current plans to cut the size of the British Army are up for review.
