Starmer pays tribute to military as he visits RAF Brize Norton

Watch: Sir Keir Starmer visits RAF Brize Norton.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has praised the military's "sense of purpose" as he made a visit to the RAF's biggest airbase – Brize Norton – in Oxfordshire.

Sir Keir made the visit alongside shadow defence secretary John Healey to mark Armed Forces Day which celebrates the service of personnel in the UK Armed Forces.

The Labour leader said the military gives people "confidence" as they know they will do their job "whatever the circumstances, however risky that may be to them".

The national Armed Forces Day event is being held in Falmouth, Cornwall, on Saturday.
