The Red Arrows are in Greece for Exercise Springhawk, the final phase of their pre-season training,  ahead of their first public appearance later this month.

This will be the Royal Air Force's iconic aerobatic team's 60th anniversary Diamond Season, which they are marking with a series of special displays.

The team were previously in Croatia for two weeks after winter training finished in early April.

Each year the Red Arrows move their training abroad to a location with more predictable, settled weather to maximise flying hours and perfect the display – this is known as Exercise Springhawk.

One notable aspect of this pre-season training has been the introduction of coloured trails in the team's performances, which have been on full display.

Posting on X, the Red Arrows said that the varied training environments allowed the team "to fly at different types of show sites and locations, ready for the busy 60th display season".

Following Exercise Springhawk, the Red Arrows have a busy schedule ahead with 37 displays planned for the year including the the King's Birthday flypast, the Midlands Air Festival and the British Grand Prix.

UK and mainland European displays will take place throughout May, June, July, the first half of August and early October.
