Beasting on the beach as 3 Rifles endure gruelling final PT session before summer leave

It's a trip to the beach with a difference as 3 Rifles took to Edinburgh's Portobello Beach for their final physical training session before heading off on summer leave. 

As the video above shows, the sun shone for the soldiers as they endured running and belly crawling on the wet sand and doing burpees in the breaking waves.

Corporal Ryan Cox said it was an opportunity to bring the whole battalion together for a beasting on the beach, saying: "We are at that high standard... we put the effort in and reap the rewards."
