Horses and riders from Household Cavalry declared fit for duties after annual Major General's inspection

Horses and riders from the Household Cavalry paraded around Hyde Park as part of their annual inspection.

Following a private kit inspection behind closed doors, the personnel and their horses emerged from Hyde Park Barracks alongside two carriages to rehearse for their ceremonial activities.

The Major General's Inspection is the annual test of the regiment's ability to conduct state ceremonial duties – this year will see them take part in the Coronation, the first King's Birthday Parade since 1951, the State Opening of Parliament and other state visits.
