Military-inspired musical and dance performances announced for 2023 Fringe Festival

Watch: Army at the Fringe line-up has been announced for 2023.

The line-up for the 2023 Army at The Fringe show has been announced for August.

Taking place at the Hepburn House Reserve Centre in Edinburgh, the show will include a series of military-inspired performances.

Acts include a special musical written and performed by veterans who served in the Middle East.

The line-up includes the musical Warriors, written by serving Scottish soldiers and veterans, about their own experiences as young soldiers.

A dance routine has also been announced called The Unknown Soldier which is an ode to the black British war veterans from both world wars.

The festival will also benefit from new technology as an augmented reality trial has been scheduled called Operation Fringe which allows players to complete a time-sensitive mission to prevent a drone attack.

Army at The Fringe joined the Edinburgh Fringe festival programme in 2017 at Hepburn House and started with the aim of sparking conversations about what the British Army was.

The show is expected to attract hundreds of people to the Army Reserve Centre this year, with the event designed to help bring the military and civilian communities together.
