Once a Tiger, always a Tiger: Tribute paid to PWRR soldier who died in Cyprus

A heartfelt tribute has been paid to a soldier who has died while in Cyprus.

Private Epeli Seniloli, who was part of 1st Battalion, the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, has been hailed as a "shining example" following his death.

He was a keen rugby player and is survived by his pregnant wife Veronica who he married in 2024.

In a tribute posted on social media, his regiment said he previously deployed on Op Elgin in Kosovo during his career and was renowned for being a gifted athlete.

It also said he will be sadly missed, and the regiment's thoughts and prayers were with his wife and family.

The tribute added: "This loss is a massive blow not only to Seniloli's family, but also the Tigers family, the Fijian community and all those who had the privilege of knowing Seni.

"He will be sadly missed but also honoured and remembered as being a shining example of a Tiger in PWRR.

"His professionalism, his dynamism, and his kindness will not be forgotten. He will always be remembered with Fierce Pride!

"Once a Tiger, always a Tiger."

An Army spokesperson said: "It is with great sadness that we must confirm the death of Private Epeli Seniloli on 24 May 2025 in Cyprus.

"Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time, and we ask that their privacy is respected."
