Army Blades Slide To Victory

The Tri Service and Inter Service Ice Hockey Championships have been celebrating their 10th anniversary in Sheffield.

The three-day festival on ice is the highlight of the military's ice-hockey year, with the representive teams battling it out for honours.

Despite it being a minority sport in the forces, a loyal player base has seen the sport develop over the past decade.

Wing Commander Phil Wilkinson described the rigorous physical challenge of playing ice hockey for the military:
"It's a bit like doing the bleep test full pelt for about a minute and a half, coming off for a minute and a half, and then doing the bleep test full pelt again for another minute and a half, for the 60 minutes that we're playing."
And it was the Army ice-hockey team who ended up champions after beating the RAF and Royal Navy - click above to find out more.
