Artwork on Tour: Canvassing Combat

For 40 Commando their last tour of Afghanistan in 2013 was memorable for more than the usual reasons.

Armed with a 'Combat Art' kit, the Marines were asked to paint, draw and photograph life on operations.

The results show an intimate insight into the minds of those on the frontline and display some hidden talents too.

We went to the Menier Gallery in London to talk to the founder of the project and some of the artists.
