Australia to Send 300 More Troops to Iraq to Train Country's Army

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has confirmed that a further 300 troops will be sent to Iraq to help train the country's army.

It comes as Iraqi armed forces have been attacking Islamic State positions in Tikrit, in the nation's largest offensive yet against the group.

30,000 troops are thought to be involved in the operation to take back the city which was captured by IS last summer, including Shia militia and local Sunni tribesmen.
