Blair Apologises for Northern Ireland Errors
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has told a House of Commons select committee that he is sorry for the letters sent in error as part of the On the Runs scheme in Northern Ireland.
But he did not apologise for the controversial secret programme, which involved hundreds of IRA suspects being told they were no longer being pursued by British police as part of the Northern Ireland peace process in 1999.
Critics described the scheme as an "amnesty for terrorists".
