British Army Officer's 2,800 Mile "Short Walk Home"

While 2 Mercian Battlegroup flew home from Cyprus after their six-month rotation ended in March, one of their number took a different route.
 
Captain Ed Lloyd Owen, 34, decided to walk back, covering 25 miles a day whilst raising money for charity at the same time.
 
He raised over £25,000 for Walking With The Wounded, which helps military veterans find new careers.
 
The British Army officer covered 2,800 miles and 11 countries in his five-month 'Short Walk Home', after a colleague said how amazing it would be to walk back to Britain.
