Cyprus Personnel March To Commemorate Lives Lost In Afghanistan

Servicemen and women in Cyprus have been taking part in a unique memorial march to remember those who died in Afghanistan.

The event, called the ‘453 March’, involved military teams covering hundreds of miles around RAF Akrotiri - one mile for every life lost.

It's the brainchild of a soldier from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), Sgt Phil Mitten.

Just last month hundreds of Afghanistan veterans marched through London to commemorate 13 years of UK military operations in the country.
