Defence Secretary: UK Would Repeat Drone Strikes In Syria

The UK would "not hesitate" to launch more secret drone strikes in Syria to thwart potential terror plots according to the Defence Secretary.

Michael Fallon said the RAF strike which killed two British Islamic State jihadists was a "perfectly legal act of self defence".

The drone strike was only possible because of the sheer number of British military assets in the region.

Operation Shader, as the campaign against Islamic State is known, involves large numbers of aircraft and personnel.

Professor Michael Clarke has described the strike as 'a big step' in the operation against Islamic State.
