Forces Complaints Commissioner Urges Personnel Not to Hold Back

The new complaints commissioner for the Armed Forces says she wants to hear more complaints from servicemen and women in her first months in the job.

Nicola Williams took on the post at the start of this month and should become a more powerful ombudsman once new laws are passed in the autumn.

She's told Forces TV more complaints would be a sign people have more confidence in the post, but that she would like power to investigate the substance of complaints, not just how they're handled by the chain of command.

She spoke to James Hirst in her first broadcast interview since taking up the position.
