Need to take a contract break?

We understand that due to the nature of the job, you’re not always going to be based in the UK and you might not get very much warning ahead of time that you’ll be on operations abroad or posted away. We also appreciate that there are going to be times when you just won’t be able to use your phone whilst overseas too – and there’s no point paying for a phone you can’t use.

So, if you’re a serving member of the British Armed Forces and you’re being posted overseas we offer you and up to three family members a contract break of up to two years.

This means we won’t bill you during this time, while you won’t be able to use any of the devices related to the agreement in question. To apply, either visit us in store or fill in this form and send it back to us either by email or post, along with a copy of your military ID or proof of residence at a military address.

Proud to give something back

Last year we made a promise to do more to welcome into Vodafone more servicemen and women who are moving to civilian life and better support those (or their partners and families) who are with us already. And it’s much more than just an empty promise: it’s confirmation of an ethos we’ve had at Vodafone for a long time and it’s being backed up personally by our UK CEO Jeroen Hoencamp, who has a military background himself.

That’s why in 2015 he signed the Armed Forces Covenant which promises that Vodafone will continue to support the Armed Forces in as many ways as possible: ensuring we make good on our efforts to give those in the services, whether they are veterans, reservists or their families, all the help they need.

So, we now provide flexibility and guidance for Vodafone employees who wish to serve in the Reserves, while simultaneously helping to re-integrate ex-service men and women into the civilian workplace by giving them great access to our recruitment teams.

We only hire really excellent people, and we know that the Armed Forces are full of them. Today we have over 100 reservists, ex-servicemen and women working at Vodafone with an Armed Forces community that grows daily.
