Forces TV: The Defence Debate

Defence has certainly played its part in the build-up to May's general election so far, with the issue arguably having a higher profile than at any time since the early 1980s.

Almost three quarters of voters meanwhile, according to an opinion poll carried out for Forces TV, think it's important for the next government to protect the size of the Armed Forces from further cuts.

But according to the same study, less than a third of people asked trust politicians to make the right decisions on the future of the Armed Forces.

All these issues and more came to the fore in the Forces TV's defence debate, with senior figures from all of the main parties questioned on how they would keep the country safe.
