Former First Sea Lord: Edward Snowden a Traitor

A former head of the Royal Navy has branded Edward Snowden 'a traitor'.

It comes after the former CIA contractor, who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) to the mainstream media, appeared on a US television show and declined to say whether or not he had read every document he revealed to the press.

Lord West, a former First Sea Lord and security minister, said Snowden's revelations had made people fighting Britain's terrorist enemies 'less safe', adding that people could die as a result of Snowden’s actions.

It comes after a bust of Snowden was removed from New York's Fort Greene Park after being secretly installed at night by a group of anonymous artists.
