Golden Flight: Force's Olympians Return Home with Team GB

Gold medallists Major Heather Stanning and Lieutenant Pete Reed were among the Olympians who have flown back into the UK.

Stanning, a major in the Royal Artillery, won gold in the women's coxless pair with Helen Glover. It was their second gold after winning the title at London 2012.

Reed, a lieutenant in the Royal Navy, was part of the men's eight who took the title for the first time since the Sydney games in 2000. It's his third gold medal.

Some team members had returned home already, but 320 athletes and support staff landed at Heathrow in gold nosed 747.

Britain is the first country to improve on a home medal haul at the next Games, their 67 beating 65 from London 2012.

77 bottles of champagne and a three-course menu were on offer for the Olympians.
