Household Cavalry: Season Starts With a Slip-Up

Today the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment had its annual inspection in Hyde Park in front of Major General Ed Smyth-Osbourne, the Officer Commanding the Army in London and the Household Division.

But there was a nightmare moment of drama when the horse slipped on all fours, losing his footing, causing the Major General's Trumpeter to dismount in a less than graceful fashion.

Luckily, neither rider nor mount was injured, and they were able to carry on with the inspection - which the regiment passed.
