Investigation Underway In Seychelles Into Death Of Royal Navy Sailor
An investigation is underway in the Seychelles into the death of a 23-year-old Royal Navy sailor.
 
Engineer Technician (Marine Engineer) Charles Warrender was serving on HMS Richmond. 
 
According to local news reports, a body was found behind the national library in the capital Victoria on Saturday morning.
 
A Royal Navy spokesperson says next of kin have been informed and that their thoughts and sympathies are with them at this time.  
 
HMS Richmond, a Type 23 frigate, is currently deployed in the Indian Ocean as part of Operation Kipion - maintaining the Royal Navy's presence in the area.
 
While visiting the islands the ship had hosted a reception for the British High Commissioner to celebrate the Queen's official birthday.
