Military Personnel Disciplined For Watching Porn

Some soldiers were even caught in the act as British military personnel were disciplined for watching porn on their computers last year.

Thirty officers, senior non-commissioned officers and members of the Armed Forces were in trouble for "browsing inappropriate adult material", according to figures obtained by The Sun from the Ministry of Defence.

Some downloaded pornographic pictures and films on to military computers, while one photo showed a soldier's wife naked wearing his bearskin, the newspaper said.

Most were caught during routine security checks or in the act of viewing porn.

Members of the military have to sign an acceptable-use policy from the MoD which warns them not to look at "offensive, indecent, obscene or abusive images".

An MoD spokeswoman said: "We have strict rules on accessing online material which is not related to work and the overwhelming majority of personnel adhere to these.

"Internet communications are monitored and personnel who fail to act responsibly will face appropriate action."

The figures, obtained following a Freedom of Information request, relate to those disciplined across all three Armed Forces - around 150,000 personnel - between January and December last year.
