Pilots Rewarded For Extraordinary Efforts In Search And Rescue

Two airmen from an RAF Search and Rescue Team have been honoured at Buckingham Palace for their courageous efforts to save a fisherman who went overboard near the Falkland Islands.
 
They were presented with medals by the Duke of Cambridge – a former Search and Rescue pilot himself.
 
Earlier this year a 139 members of the Armed Forces were named in the latest Operational Honours and Awards List, including Lance Corporal Joshua Leakey, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions in Afghanistan.
