"£500 Million Defence Cuts Can Be Made"

The Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans, Mark Lancaster, has told Forces TV he's confident that £500 million cuts to the defence budget can be met.

The government made the announcement last week, with the aim for the Defence Secretary to make the savings through efficiencies and underspends.

The Ministry of Defence, meanwhile, says it won’t mean any job losses and that it can save the money without affecting capability, operations, and training - although it may mean delaying some equipment orders.
