Recreating The World With Virtual Reality Therapy

Virtual reality therapy (VRT) uses specially programmed computers, visual immersion devices and artificially created environments to give the patient a simulated experience

It's not widely prevalent in the UK but VRT has been used to treat PTSD in other countries for some time.

Now researchers in America have found an unlikely drug that they think will make the treatment much more effective.

But elsewhere in the country, scientists have begun experimenting with other uses of virtual reality to create a whole new species of therapist...

Earlier last year meanwhile, Kate Wathall took a look at how VR is used to help train medics in the British armed forces.
