Refusal To Grant Interpreters Asylum "Wholly Unacceptable"

Britain’s refusal to grant asylum to hundreds of Afghan interpreters has been branded wholly unacceptable by a leading group of MPs.

The cross-party Defence Select Committee has written to the Defence Secretary demanding explanations.

Forces TV's Kate Gerbeau spoke to the chairman of the committee, Dr Julian Lewis, and asked why he'd decided to make such a clear intervention with the letter.

It comes after almost 170,000 people signed an online petition calling on the Prime Minister to “Protect all Afghan interpreters who served with British troops”.
