Remembering the Victims of the Rwandan Genocide

Commemorations have been held this week to mark the UN-designated 'Day of Remembrance' for the victims of the Rwandan Genocide.
 
Up to 1,000,000 people are estimated to have died when tensions between Hutu and Tutsi ethnic groups erupted into violence in 1994. 
 
'Operation Gabriel' saw a large contingent of British troops being sent to join the UN humanitarian mission at the time.
