The Royal Marine Routine: Cassidy Stars on the Dance Floor
Royal Marine Commando Cassidy Little shone last night on The People's Strictly for Comic Relief. Dancing the 'Cass'asodoble with his professional partner Natalie Lowe he made his fellow Marines proud with 'astonishing charisma' and a breathtaking performance
Now a motivational speaker and reporter for Forces.TV, Cassidy lost his right leg below the knee in an IED attack during a tour of Afghanistan in 2011. Yesterday's competition was a milestone in his intensive rehabilitation. The road to recovery started with an induced coma, followed by months in hospital, yesterday evening it culminated with him dancing in front of the nation.
Major Steve McCulley reveals: “no one will admit to it, but Marines all have a soft spot for a bit of Strictly!”
The result will be announced this Friday evening.
