IS Suffers Significant Loses Since Strikes Began
A Pentagon spokesman says Islamic State has lost more than a quarter of its territory in Iraq since air strikes began there last August.
IS took over large parts of northern and western Iraq last June.
The announcement comes as Barack Obama and the Iraqi Prime Minister meet for talks in Washington.
Haider al-Abadi is expected to ask for a greater contribution from the US in fighting Islamist militants.
Australia is already sending an additional 330 troops to bolster its military presence in the country.
