Two Former Soldiers Prepare To Compete In Paracanoe

Two former soldiers are hoping to paddle their way to next year's Paralympic Games in Brazil.

London 2012 Paralympic veteran Nick Beighton and Nikki Paterson both represent Great Britain in Paracanoe and were part of the team that competed at the World Championships in Milan in August.

Both of them are supported by the Help for Heroes Sports Recovery programme which, in the past year alone, has put on 300 events across 50 different sports enabling over 2,100 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans to take part in adaptive sports from grassroots through to performance level.

Paracanoe will make its debut at the Rio Paralympic Games in 2016.

Forces TV's Julian Evans went to the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham to meet the athletes.
