"UK Should Work With Assad And Putin To Fight IS"

Former Royal Navy chief Admiral Lord West says the UK should consider working with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad in order to target IS territory in Syria, as well as Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"He [Assad] is a loathsome man but ISIL have got some safe havens in Syria," he said.

Admiral Lord West also said Britain must step up the "propaganda war" against Islamic State.

"They are running rings around us in terms of the social media they are putting out," he said.
