We Were There: Tank Assault
In the latest edition of our series 'We Were There', Forces TV has been hearing from the British tank crews that fought as part of the allied coalition to recapture Kuwait, following the Iraqi invasion in 1990.
When the order was given to attack, it was Challenger tanks of the Queens Royal Irish Hussars that led the British advance.
"You had a whiteout. You couldn't see what was going on because all the hotspots became one big white-spot. It was a very succesful attack"
The UK suffered a total loss of 47 casualties in the Gulf War.
