Athletes battle muddy conditions in Cornwall for Inter Services cross country championships

Watch: Athletes battle muddy conditions in Cornwall for Inter Services cross country championships

Wet and muddy conditions paved the way for exciting races at the 2024 Inter Services Cross Country championships in Cornwall.

The women's contest was won by the Navy's Lieutenant Chelsea Baker although strong performances from the Army competitors saw them take the team title.

In the men's race, Army pair Corporal Dean Williamson and Captain Max Walker matched each other stride for stride but it was the former who won the singles title by just a few seconds.

The men's team title went the Army's way which was a similar story in all other races apart from the Masters, which saw an RAF win for the first time in a number of years.

You can see action from Cornwall and reaction from the winners in the featured video above.

If you want to see what it would be like to run in this event, check out the point-of-view video below, provided by Staff Sergeant Andrew Briggs.
