UKAF women achieve redemption after 2025 defeat by beating MCC at Lord's

The UK Armed Forces women's cricket team have beaten Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in their annual T20 clash at Lord's Cricket Ground.

With the MCC winning the toss and electing to bowl, things didn't start well for UKAF with one of their star players, Georgina Cant, getting bowled out by Molly Barbour-Smith as the match had barely begun.

Georgina Dean didn't fare better against the bowling prowess of Bex Tyson, after she was also bowled out after the third over and UKAF were 21 for 2.

The batting experience of Connie Cant and Amanda Potgieter settled UKAF down following Dean's dismissal, putting on a 117-run partnership.

Connie Cant scored five fours to tally up a total of 46 runs before she was bowled out by Issy Routledge as UKAF were 138 for 3.

Potgieter scoring a six and a quartet of fours for a total of 53, helping the military side steady the ship.

Come the interval, UKAF had clocked up 149 for 6, an improvement on the 106 runs they scored in 2025.

Out in the field, Milly Till got UKAF off to a strong start, bowling out Holly Wilson at the beginning of the second over.

The MCC pairing of Issy Routledge and Meg Pressly-Smith proved difficult for UKAF to shake off.

Pressly-Smith was caught by Georgina Cant off the bowling of Carly Rush in the 12th over – but only managed 23 runs.

Skipper Routledge racked up 72 runs come the end of the MCC innings, but with a total of 128 for four, it wasn't enough to catch UKAF who won by 21 runs, redeeming themselves from their heavy loss in 2025.
