Forces Athletes Fight For Records

Forces athletes have given it their all during the Inter Services Athletics Championships, at RAF Cosford.

The Army's Lieutenant Lauren Hall led from the front and beat the previous services best for the women's 5,000 metres, set by Jo Kelsey in 2002.

The previous record was 17:12, while Lauren's run shaved off five seconds, clocking in at 17:07.

In the men's 400 metres, Rifleman Alhagie Drammeh was the clear winner, but his time of 47.5 seconds was half a second off the previous record, set by Kris Akabusi in 1984.

Likewise, in the pole vault, the RAF's Corporal Cameron Walker-Shepherd also just missed out on breaking a services record.
