RAF hockey star passes milestone as GB qualify for Paris Olympics

Senior Aircraftman Liam Sanford has celebrated 100 combined caps for England and Great Britain hockey as he played a starring role in GB's qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The RAF player has been a key figure for the national setups over recent years and competed for Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
Great Britain came into the 2024 qualification tournament with high hopes of making it to this summer's event - and rightly so as they qualified with a 100% record.

Wins over Pakistan, Malaysia and China saw GB top their group in the qualification tournament and a thumping win over New Zealand in the semi-final confirmed qualification.
A 1-0 loss to Germany in the final was a disappointing end to the competition, but SAC Sanford will be confident of securing a place in GB's team for the Olympics.
