Forces snow sport stars kick off 73rd Inter Services with stunning opening ceremony at Meribel
Competitors have kickstarted the week of events at Meribel with a glamorous opening ceremony on the Stade.
It’s a full house at the Inter Services Snow Sports Championships this year with the Australian defence forces and the Armed Forces Para Snow Sport Team joining the three squads of the Royal Navy, British Army and RAF.
During the ceremony, the Para team received the loudest cheers as they entered the proceedings, while the Australian team also got a warm welcome.

The championships were officially opened by the vice president of the UK Armed Forces Winter Sports Association, Major General Jez Bennett.
This is the 73rd Inter Services and the 18th time the competition has been held in Meribel.
