The Navy have won the Inter Services Ice Hockey Championships in Sheffield.

In a tense final game, the Navy came out winners on penalties after a 2-2 scoreline.

The victory means the Army will not be champions for the first time in seven years.

The Navy took the first goal through a 5 on 3 power play and led 1-0 at the end of the first period.

The Army pulled level in the second period, but heading into the final part of the game, the Navy pulled ahead again with a power play goal.

With just three minutes to go and the win in sight, the Army clung on to their status as reigning champions for a while longer with an equaliser.

That took the game into penalties and it was the Navy who came out on top to end a six-year spell of Army dominance.
