RAF Hockey star Sanford enjoys comfortable Team GB win to open hockey campaign

Royal Air Force hockey star Air Specialist 1 Liam Sanford starred in Great Britain's dominant 4-0 win over Spain to open their Paris Olympics medal campaign.
In this opening Pool A stage game Team GB – ranked second in the world – was rewarded for their persistent attacking play.
There were two goals by Welshman Gareth Furlong and one each for Rupert Shipperley and Nick Park to give Team GB their biggest opening day win at an Olympics in 52 years.
Earlier this month AS1 Sanford described just making the squad as a "proud moment" when he spoke to BFBS Sport at his training base at Bisham Abbey.
A veteran of the delayed Tokyo games in 2021, AS1 Sanford and his teammates are hoping that they can improve on their fifth-place finish, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by India with a 3-1 loss.
Team GB are back in action tomorrow evening against South Africa.
