RAF Team Score First At Aki 10s

A team from RAF Akrotiri has won this year's Aki 10s rugby tournament for the first time in its history.

After a week of intense competition, Akrotiri Flamingos faced the RAF Seagulls in the final of the cup competition.

The game saw the Flamingos score four first-half tries.

That impressive display continued in the second half, with the local team eventually running out 39-0 winners.

Team captain of the RAF Flamingos, Sgt Gareth Charnock, spoke to Forces Network after the game:

The Cyprus Ba Bas won the Bowl competition, beating Military Working Dogs 12-5.

The Plate, meanwhile, went to the RAF Predators - the air force team beating 1 LANCS 40-5.
