The British Army men's development rugby league team have beaten the Royal Marines as part of Warrington's Armed Forces Day celebrations.

The 22-16 win was thanks to an impressive first-half performance where skipper Aaron Houghton shone with two tries.

Joshua Ellison and Adam Hooper added to the Army score after Elliot Richardson gave the Marines an early lead.

Reagan Hargreaves and Luke Baird both crossed the try line for the Marines, but it wasn't enough as the Army hung on to a win.

Later in the afternoon, the Army men's senior team will also be in action against Crosfields.
